Sir,
As someone living with Type 1 diabetes, I'm writing to ask your readers to support leading health charity Diabetes UK and their national campaign 'Get Serious'.

The campaign aims to get as many people as possible to sign up and show that they want to see diabetes be made a top priority by Government and key decision makers in 2010 and beyond.

Your readers are simply asked to enter their name and email address at www.diabetes.org.uk/GetSerious or text SERIOUS to 84383.

Because half a million people in the UK have Type 2 diabetes and don't even know it; because three people die every hour from diabetes-related complications; because one person is diagnosed with diabetes every three minutes; because of all of this I'm asking your readers to join us.

It's time to Get Serious about diabetes.

Yours,

Dominic Littlewood,

Television presenter.
