A chara,
In reference to D Moore’s letter in last Friday’s Journal (18/7), the Republican Network for Unity did not sign the petition because we regard it as being politically loaded.

Another correspondent has already noted that it omitted the most micro of all the "micro-groups" - the Provisional IRA Army Council - and made no reference to those who may have been its recent victims.

There are other aspects of the petition that demonstrate its partisan nature but out of respect for the bereaved we would like to let the matter rest.

Is mise,

Danny Mc Brearty,

Republican Network for Unity
