Sir,
My father Thomas Rankin is looking for his brother Daniel Rankin.

Daniel was fostered to a family in Portglenone in 1968. He used to work for a company called SL Combustion in 1972 and I believe moved to the Cliftonville/Antrim road area around 1972/1973 – this is his last known location.

He has been described as a tall, slim, curly-haired lad who wore black glasses.

The Rankin family originally came from Springtown Camp in Derry but they were all fostered out to various families and lost contact. 25 years ago my mother asked for a story to be published and I am pleased to say that it brought my father in contact with all of his sisters. However he's still trying, after 30-odd years, to find his brother.

Here are the names of the family - Tom's mother Mary Baxter (deceased), father Daniel Rankin (deceased), brothers Billy and Daniel and sisters

Joan, Martha, Patricia, Annie and Bridget.
