The death occurred recently of Kathleen (Tatley) Davis, Castle Park.
Tatley was born on 21st April 1926 in Fahan to parents Harold and Cassie Foreshaw and spent her early childhood in the Main Street. She married Andrew Davis when she was only 18 and had four children, Johnny, Katherine (Tootsie), Dorothy and Rosie. S
he was a kind, thoughtful and generous person who always thought of others before herself. She was a bit of a poet and liked to make up verses when the mood took her.
Her happiest years were spent in the 'Top Spot', the cafe in Church Street run by her daughter, Tootsie and her husband Peter Murphy and where she helped out whenever asked. She was very religious and a daily Mass goer. She also loved her horses and was at home in Liam the Poet's bookmakers in the Market Square. Indeed if you had asked her what her favourite places in the world were she would have said The Top Spot, St. Mary's Oratory and Liam the Poets, in that order!. She had 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren all of whom loved her completely. They nicknamed her 'Robot Granny with Two Sticks'. She has one remaining brother and two sisters.
Tatley was in poor health for a number of years and died on 14th March in Beech Hill Manor. She was cremated in Roselawn Cremetery and her ashes were buried with her beloved husband Andrew. May her soul rest in peace.
