A Limavady housing estate has been included in a £1m. initiative to support and encourage shared neighbourhoods.
The Glen, Limavady, is one of eleven housing areas announced as the latest participants.

The chair of the Glen’s Community Association, Lexi Stewart, is delighted with the news. “We all get on well here and by and large the community pull well together,” Mr. Stewart said. "This award is in recognition of all the work everyone does here and it will help us to keep that work going.”

The Shared Neighbourhood Programme was launched by the International Fund for Ireland and the Department for Social Development in August 2008, to work with existing communities to develope 30 shared neighbourhoods over three years.

Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie MLA said: "The communities who have stepped up to participate in the Shared Neighbourhood Programme are translating the wish of the vast majority of people in Northern Ireland into a reality. These communities have demonstrated that sharing works, and that they are enriched by the experience."
