THE FINAL of the E20,000 Super Sprint will be the highlight of the weekend's greyhound racing at Lifford Stadium on Sunday night.
By "The Tracker"
Six top class greyhounds have made it through to have a chance of landing the E10,000 winner's prize and the final has a very open look to it.
Bookmakers will probably make the Co. Carlow owned and trained "Carlow
's Pride" their favourite after his semi-final win in a good time of 18.70 last week, but there is very little on form between the six dogs in the final.
"Royal Rocker" trained by Olly Brae also put up a good time of 18.77 when winning his semi-final last week but he looks to be very badly drawn in trap six in the final.
Also in with a great chance in a very open race is the fast starting "Medinah Mal," trained by Paddy Duffy and "Angel's Guardians" trained by Pat Buckley.
However, having looked at the semi-finals a few times, I will select "Carlow's Pride," who is in trap five, to take the E10,000 prize for his Co. Carlow connections.
Also on Sunday night there will be three Tote Retention competitions starting over 525 yards, 575 yards and 750 yards.
There will also be a good 13 race of all graded racing at the track tomorrow night (Sat.) So as normal, racing starts tomorrow night at 7.40 p.m. with Sunday's card starting at 6 p.m.
Super Spring Final - in trap order - Ashley Blackie; Jolly Treasure; Medinal Mal; Angel's Guardians; Carlow's Pride; Royal Rocker.

Fantastic night at Brandywell
The organisers of last Monday night's annual "Memorial Gala Night" at Brandywell Stadium enjoyed further success with the three major finals, plus a further seven top quality races which attracted huge support.
Prizemoney in excess of £11,000 was paid out after a night which commemorated the lives of prominent local greyhound enthusiasts including the late Billy and Shield Quigley; Bill McKinney and George Holmes.
The first Memorial Final was the Billy & Sheila Quigley Memorial 525 yards event which saw "Say It's True," racing from trap one, take the top prize in a time of 29.28. As usual, the large Quigley clan could not possibly fit into the presentation photograph but, as always, a big turnout of the family circle was present to support their parents' race.
Mr. Paul Roberts, a brother of the late Sheila Quigley, made the long trip from Australia to present the trophy to the winning owner, Mr. Mervyn Speers from Co. Armagh and the dog's owner had his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandson present to savour the moment.
Race 6 on the card was The Bill McKinney Memorial 500 Final and that event was won by "Snipersgottalent" from trap five in a time of 28.28. The dog's owner, Mr. Kevin o Kane, his son Caolan and wife, Sally Ann, accepted the trophy from Bill's mother, Jean, who was accompanied by her husband Len and surrounded by her grandchildren.
The George Holmes Memorial Sprint Final (300 yards) was race no. 8 on the card and it was won by "Lochnamon Rumble," racing from trap four, in a time of 16.72 secs. George's wife, Veronica and her grandson, Caomhin, made the presentation to Mr Brendan Duffy, the winning owner. Mr Danny Melly and son Sean, who train the dog, were also present plus George and Veronica's daughters and his brother, Colum Holmes.
Special thanks is extended to the Quigley, McKinney and Holmes families and also the businesses and individuals whose help and support in the running of this meeting was invaluable.
A big thanks also to track bookmaker, Daniel White, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, for his hard work in the overall running of Monday night's meeting.
