Derry Mayor Drew Thompson, DUP was expected in Buncrana last night for a specially-convened meeting of the town council.
The purpose of the official visit, due to take place at 7.30am in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, is to explore how Buncrana Town Council and Derry City Council can interact to provide better infrastructural facilities and services for the people of the North West region.

“The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on the recent historic visit by the Mayor of Buncrana and Mayor of Derry to Boston and to consider how the connections made with business and political leaders in the US can bring benefits to the people of this area”, a spokesperson for Buncrana town council said yesterday.
