Death of Una McLaughlin

The death took place recently of Una McLaughlin, Lemacrossan. Una, who was originally from Magheralan and aged 88 years, died at Letterkenny General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Dan almost five years ago.
Una was a brilliant wife, mother and grandmother who loved life and lived for her family. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Her Requiem Mass took place last Tuesday in Quigley's Point Community Centre and was conc
elebrated by Fr. Mailey, Fr. Farren and family friends Fr. O'Carroll and Fr. Logue. The Lessons were read by her grandchildren, Shane and Roisin Doherty, grandchildren, while the beautiful music and singing was rendered by Danny McCarron. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Una's grandchildren Shannon McConway, Jolene McLaughlin, Lauren McConway, Rachael McLaughlin and Sarah Kate McConway. Burial took place at the cemetery at St. Columba's Church, Drung.
Deepest sympathy is offered to Una's family, Mary, Gortany, Joe, Meenavenaghan, Margaret, Dublin, Hugh, Dublin, Rosemary, Meath, Robert, Gortany and Anna, Dublin, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, a wide family circle and many friends. May she rest in peace.
A sponsored walk will take place this Sunday, 18th May in aid of St. Luke's Hospital, Dublin and the Day Care Unit of the Oncology Ward in Letterkenny Hospital. The walk will commence at 2p.m. and will go from Culdaff to Malin via McSheffrey's Bridge. All welcome to take part.
Redcastle Sports Day will take place this year on Sunday, 1st June, in Foyle Park, Redcastle. There will be the usual track and field events. Admission is adults 3 euro and children 1 euro each.
A trip is currently being organised for a weekend break in Scotland from 20th-22nd June, to visit the Highland Show and a day trip to Edinburgh City. The cost is £180 or 250 euro per person sharing, and children under eleven £110 or 150 euro. £50 deposit will secure a seat. The price includes coach, ferry and two nights bed and breakfast staying in a hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow, approximately 5 miles from the city centre. If you would like more information regarding entitlements, respite support groups and other services, Diane Donnelly will be holding a number of information drop-in clinics in the Community Hospitals. The last Monday of every month from 12noon - 2 p.m in the Carndonagh Community Hospital and the last Tuesday of every month is the Buncrana Community Hospital. There was no jackpot winner last week in the Quigley's Point Community Centre/R.C.D. Limited mini lotto draw. The winning numbers were 6,10,18,24 and the four 15 euro winners were Kevin McColgan, Cutt Road, c/o Callaghans, Nellie McCallion, c/o Mary Deeney's, Daniel McCorriston, Redcastle and Lauren Dockery, c/o S. Crumlish, Redcastle Bar. The jackpot will be 1,850 euro tonight.
Whitecastle National School finished 3rd in the Inishowen P.S. League this year. In the 11-aside cup, Whitecastle had a fine 2-1 win over Carndonagh N.S. Goals were scored by Aiden Cunningham and Aidan McLaughlin. They were then beaten convincingly by Moville N.S. by 3-0 in the second round.
