The Pantomime 2008 is looking for children between 7 - 9 years old and who can sing to audition tomorrow in Scoil Iosagain from 11 a.m. - 12 noon.
Inishowen Wildlife Club is organising an outing to Inch Island tomorrow. Meet at Burt Chapel Car Park at 10 a.m. and wear warm clothing, suitable footwear and bring a hot drink and a snack. Everyone welcome.

The Fahan community Council is looking
for volunteers to research the local history of the area. This research will include the 6th century monastic settlement to the last train that ran through the village. The group hope to put together the information and a website about the village. If you can give some free time please get in touch with Peter Gurrie 9360495.

The Medical Centre, Maginn Avenue is dispensing the flu injection for the next two weeks from Monday - Friday. No appointment is necessary.

Buncrana Community Library is currently hosting two exhibitions -'Inishowen Moth Survey', which includes photos and information on the moth species sighted in inishowen and 'From Dublin Dock to Rathmullan Pier' with pictures taken aboard the Jeanie Johnston Tallship on her first journey into Lough Swilly where she took part in the Flight of the Earls celebrations. All parents of Scoil Mhuire students are invited to the Annual General Meeting of Scoil Mhuire Parents' Council Association which will take place in the school on Monday 8th October at 8.30 p.m.

The role of the Parents' Council is to promote partnership between pupils, school and parents where the best interests of all are fostered. Come along and be involved - have a voice and join the Parents' Council.

Scoil Mhuire's 'Helping Your First Year With Maths' will begin this year on Wednesday October 10th at 11.30 a.m. in the school. The course will last for one hour. Maths is one of the most important subjects on the curriculum and parents have found it very helpful in the past. The course will run for six weeks and may be continued if parents so wish. Also in Scoil Mhuire, Social/Ballroom dance classes will be starting on Wednesday October 10th in the hall at 8 p.m. These classes are for both beginners and improvers. Everybody welcome and you are asked to bring a partner. Telephone 087 7516365 for more details.

A Mother and Toddler Group is held every Wednesday in Wain's World from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Buncrana G.A.A. club has launched a new logo competition. They want a new, modern logo which will be recognised anywhere in Ireland and the competition is open to everyone. The new logo, which will be chosen by club members, will be used as the club crest and in all Buncrana G.A.A. promotional materials from signage to sports bags.

David McConnell, the instigator of the competition has said that although the club had adopted the Town Council crest they had always intended to have a logo of their own. So now is your chance and since the launching last week there has been a phenomenol response. David says that they will narrow down the entires and then put those chosen on display in the clubhouse, in the Scarvey Field. This will give everyone a chance to see the magnificent new clubhouse. Then, the overall winner and the winners in the various categories will be chosen and prizes of Apple iPods, Nintendo DSs and TV-DVD combox will be presented to the various winners.

You can submit your entry on A4 paper with your name, address and telephone number on the reverse. Entries are free of charge but are limited to one per person. School entries will be collected by a committee member on the week ending 19th October and the final closing date for postal entries is 12 noon on 19th October. The Irish Wheelchair Association is seeking volunteers to participate in their annual walk next Easter 19th - 29th March, 2008 The walk will include places like the Grand Canyon, the Indian Trail, you will meet the Indians on their reservation, explore the Painted Desert, trek through the Kaibab National Forest, Route 66, Hoover Dam and the deserts of Las Vegas. The next Country Market will be held in the Church Hall, Church Street tomorrow from 2 - 3 p.m. all welcome.

The Easy Slim classes, held in Christ Church Hall are cancelled until further notice.

Weight Watchers Buncrana will be held in the Lake of Shadows Hotel on Tuesdays (you can enter by the side door). The first class is held at 5.15 p.m., the second class at 6.30 p.m. and the third class is at 7.45 p.m. New members are very welcome.

The Inishowen Athletics' Club has now started juvenile training on Wednesdays in the Leisure Centre at 7 p.m. for children 8 years and over.

Also being held in the Leisure Centre is Aquafit classes every Wednedsay at 8 p.m. ages 16+. No swimming ability is required and all welcome.

Yoga classes for those with Multiple Sclerosis have resumed in the Leisure Centre on Mondays at 12 noon. Yoga for beginners has also started on Tuesdays at 6.30 p.m. For details telephone Marian 086 1740054.

The Buncrana Youth Accordion Band is now enrolling new members, boys and girls aged 8 +. Classes are held every Wendesday from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Buncrana Youth Club.

The Illies Golden Gloves Boxing Club has now re-opened on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. All welcome.

A Below the Belt Weigh-in-'n Work-out for males and females will be held every Monday in Cockhill School at 8.30 p.m. all welcome.

A Certificate of Science in Computing for Women will be held in Clonmany Youth Centre from September - December. A Free Counselling Service is now available through your doctor at the Buncrana Medical Centre with a B.A.C.P. Trainee Counsellor. If you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bereavement, stress, phobias, low self esteem or lack direction in life or have relationship problems then this is the service for you.
