8th Donegal Scouts, Carndonagh, will celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Ireland.
8th Donegal Scouts, Carndonagh, will celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Ireland. A special merit badge has been commissioned and will be awarded to all Scouts & Senior Cubs (that is Cubs who will be moving to Scouts after the summer break) who partic
ipate in any local scouting event that exceeds 100 tasks The scouts will host a fundraising Car Wash Extravaganza, on Saturday June 28, in Supervalu Car park, Malin Road, Carndonagh from 10am - 5pm We need the Support of the Whole Community
Care of The Aged will hold a Church gate collection on Saturday June 21 and Sunday 22. Your support will be greatly appreciated. All Senior Citizens in the Carn parish are invited to the Strand Hotel on Sunday July 6, at 6pm. Don't wait for an invite just let us know you are coming and if you need transport ring 9374291 of 9374382. The committee would like to thank G&S and Supervalu for allowing us to sell tickets for the hamper which will be raffled at the party.
A dance in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystropy Research will be held in the Malin Hotel on Saturday June 21. Music by Sister & Brother Sharon & Gary Nixon. Followed by disco with P.J. the D.J. Inishowen Tourism are organising a trip of the Peninsula's attractions and historical areas on the June 28, leaving at 9.30am outside the Tourist Office, at the Diamond, Carndonagh and returning around 5pm. The fee for this outing is 25 euro, which includes refreshments and lunch. Dessie McCallion is our tour guide. To book a seat or for further information tel 93 74933.
Inishowen Development Partnership are currently taking names from women interested in doing the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) training programme which will commence in September 2008. This programme is suitable for any woman who wants to develop her skills and knowledge of computers. The programme will run for 32 weeks and will involve a commitment of 1 day a week for 2 hours. Each programme will have a minimum of 13 participants and will be held in a number of locations in the Peninsula, subject to demand. This course is completely free and due to the limited number of places available, selection for participation on this course will be by application form only.
