Christmas trail at Muff Celtic garden

THE Christmas Trail at the Celtic Prayer Garden overlooking Derry City, on the Donegal border, looks set to build on last year’s success. The large star shining brightly over the garden, across from the IOSAS Centre, at Derryvane, Muff, heralds the transformation of the garden for the telling of the Christmas story that will captivate young and old alike.

The little shelters around the garden each have their own Christmas theme and storytellers tell the Christian stories behind some favourite Christmas traditions, such as St Nicholas, the Christmas Tree Miracle, and the birth of Jesus. The guided trail under starlight will end with a special piece of drama by young people and, afterwards, children will be able to take part in craft activities while their parents enjoy some festive treats in the IOSAS Centre Café.

The trail will open next Friday, November 30, and will run each weekend, closing on Sunday, December 16. There will be three sessions each Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 4 pm, 5.30 pm and 7 pm.

Pre-booking, 72 hours in advance, is essential and the cost is six pounds per child, eight pounds per adult, or 25 pounds for a family ticket. A special offer for the first night gives 20 per cent of all tickets booked.

For booking and further information contact the IOSAS Centre, Lenamore Road, Muff, on 00353 74 9384866.
