Do you need help to find long-lost friends or family?

We are launching a new community service online next month aimed at helping people locate friends and family they’ve lost contact with.

‘Where are they now?’ will be a free service that will run on derryjournal.com and will launch on December 10.

The premise is simple.

If you are looking for someone - a relative, an old neighbour, a lost friend or maybe an old schoolmate - send us full details of who you’re searching for plus of course your full details so people can get in touch.

We’ll host your appeal online in our community section in the hope that the Journal’s world wide scope, especially among the north west’s diaspora, might help you get back in touch.

Email us at editorial@derryjournal.com and write Where are they now? in the subject line.

And of course you can write to us at: Where Are They Now?, Editorial, The Derry Journal, 113-118 Duncreggan Road, Derry, BT48 0AA.

Tell us if there is any part of your address (e-mail/phone number) you do not want printed.

Meanwhile we are on the hunt again for your ideas for our facebook cover.

We’ve used Liam Crossan’s great Peace Bridge shot over the last two months but it’s now time for a change.

We’ve been delighted with the pics you’ve sent since we flagged it up on Facebook this week but we hope you’ll send us lots more.

To make your submission, all you have to do is upload your pic to www.facebook.com/derryjournal, or @derryjournal on Twitter.

You can also email david.wilson@derryjournal.com to send us your image.

Look forward to seeing what you’ve got to offer.
