F’Vale GAA camp success

Faughanvale GAA Club recently hosted their annual Summer Coaching Camp, led by Coaching Co-ordinator Joanne O’Donnell, and assisted by coaches from within the club.

Over 90 children aged 5 to 11 years old participated in the Camp over a two-week period, during which they enjoyed various aspects of Gaelic Games - from learning the basics right through to playing games.

Derry GAA Games Development Officer Richard Ferris attended the camp to pass on his coaching expertise, and the children also enjoyed 2 days fun in Roe Valley Leisure Centre, which was organised with Sports Development Manager, Ollie Mullan, and the children used all the facilities on offer.

“This year has been the seventh year of the Camp, and has most definitely been the most successful and enjoyable to date. The children and coaches are now taking a well earned break, before starting back with weekly coaching sessions in September,” said a club spokesperson.

“Faughanvale GAA club would like to thank all the children and coaches who participated, with a special word of thanks to Joanne for the massive amount of effort she has put in to the Camp, the hard work really has paid off!”
