Interested in growing your own food?

People in Derry who are keen to adopt a healthier more sustainable lifestyle are to get an insight into the world of GIY (Grow It Yourself).

A free discussion evening, hosted by the Playtrail Community Allotments, supported by Transition Towns, and facilitated by Ulster GIY rep Mick McEvoy, will be held on August 28 at the Eco-Base at the Belmont Playtrail. “GIY’s vision is for a healthier, more connected and more sustainable world where people grow their own food. The organisation brings people together in community groups and online to inspire and empower them to grow vegetables,” Mick says. For more information visit www.giyireland.com.- or contact Mick McEvoy at mickm@giyireland.com or 07772838227 http://transitionderry.ning.com/
