Kids: Help Santa get ready for Christmas at Ebrington

Ilex, the city’s urban regeneration company, is inviting children to Ebrington Square from December 17-23 to help Santa as he prepares for Christmas.

The free event, which will consist of interactive workshops, pyrotechnic shows, fire performers and walkabout characters from 5-9pm each evening, offers children the opportunity to help elves load and paint Santa’s sleigh and meet the man himself.

Santa will present every child that helps with a certificate and participants will also be in with a chance of winning a family break.

Ilex’s Cultural Broker Caoimhin Corrigan said: “This fun, free, festive event is a great opportunity for local families and those from outside the city to share in the excitement of Christmas by helping Santa in his preparations at his workshop in Ebrington Square.

“We hope that this will draw visitors to the city, boost business and showcase Ebrington Square as a fantastic location for community and commercial events on the eve of our eagerly anticipated City of Culture year.

“I encourage all members of the public, especially parents with young children, to come along to this fun event and, on behalf of Ilex, would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas”.
