Meeting on Woodlands Unit tonight

SDLP MLA Pat Ramsey has encouraged parents whose children attend the Woodlands Speech and Language Unit at Belmont House School to speak out at a consultation meeting to be held by the WELB at the school tonight at 7 p.m.

Mr Ramsey said:“I would call on all parents to be in attendance. I know opposition to any closure of this precious facility is strong and united, and it is imperative that this view is made clear to the Board.

“I have made my views known to the Board in terms of the need for Woodlands to remain at the trusted Belmont site, and I have been in contact with stakeholders in the Department of Education to ensure that they are aware that parents and local representatives who use and value Woodlands will simply not allow it to be split up when it is a beacon of best practice in this region for Speech and Language Therapy.”
