New St.Vincent de Paul charity shop

The Society of St.Vincent de Paul plan to open a charity shop in Moville in August. It will be located in the building formerly known as the Old Co-Op.This shop will be a means of supporting our local conferences in the following areas; Iskaheen, Drung Moville, Ballinacrea and Culdaff. All donations of good quality clothes, shoes, bags, furniture, bric-a-brac, books and clothes for recycling will be gratefully received. As this is a very worthy charity your support would be gratefully appreciated, especially in these lean times.

Winners in this week’s Parish Draw were Frances Devine, Ardmore, 300 euro, Cormac Kerrigan, Keady, 200 euro, Martina Buchanan, Grove Cottages, 100 euro.

The Muff Ceili Club would like to thank everyone who supported the Ceili in St.Mary’s Community Hall which raised 700 euro park for the parish renovation fund.

The usual outdoor ceili run in conjunction with the festival will take place on the Sunday night in the Squealing Pig car park.This ceili and social evening is a very popular event enjoyed by both young and old as everyone is catered for on the night, i.e.dancing, ceol,agus craic. The evening begins at 9pm, and music will be provided by The Cottage Ceili Band. Admission free.

Community Bingo every Saturday night in St. Mary’s Community Hall at 9.15pm.Your continued support is appreciated.

Muff I.C.A. are once again to the forefront with all the trophies they have received at various shows around thcountry- Carol Lynch, Olive Parke, and Anne McLaughlin have between them won 19 firsts, 12 seconds, and

7 thirds at the recent Inishowen Agriculture Show at Carndonagh the trophies were awarded for Crochet,

Knitting, Cross Stitch,Wool and Cotton Embroidery, Black work,Chicken Scratch,Sewing and Knitted Toys,

Decoupage, Jam making, Plants, and Flower Arrangements. Carol also won the J.J.Kelly Cup for having the most points in the I.C.A. section and the Shield for Patchwork and Quilting. Well done ladies.

The Muff Guild would like to congratulate the Carndonagh Guild for having won the ICA Cup for being the overall winners.

Carndonagh Country Markets as part of ‘Feel Good Fortnight’ are having a Children’s Fun Day’ to-morrow Saturday 28th July from 12-3pm in the Colgan Hall, Carndonagh. As well as the usual range of quality products on sale we will have activities all afternoon for the little ones, including card making, face painting, gardening workshop, watercolour painting, cupcake decorating, herbal tea tasting, and arabic dance. We will also have hot homemade soup, tea/coffee and home baking, live music and the warmest of welcomes. We hope to see you there.

Naomh Padraig GAA Lotto numbers were 7,5,6,1,4,2,3. There was no jackpot winner, the 100 euro winner was Nuala Lafferty, Carnamoyle Muff. Next week’s jackpot will be 1,700 euro.
