Nominate for a Life After Stroke Award

Many in Derry and the North West have been directly affected by stroke. Whether they are a stroke survivor, carer, volunteer, fundraiser, family member, friend or someone in a professional role who has made a difference, why not let them know how remarkable they are by nominating them for a Northern Ireland Life After Stroke Award.

As the only UK charity solely concerned with helping everyone affected by stroke, the Stroke Association recognises the huge and overwhelming impact a stroke can have. Northern Ireland Director, Tom Richardson explains: “The Northern Ireland Life After Stroke Awards are a great way of recognising and celebrating people’s courage after stroke and support for those affected by it and we look forward to receiving nominations over the coming months.”

Nominations are required for seven categories: Adult Courage Award (18-64 years old); Adult Courage Award (age 65+); Carer’s Award; Stroke Association Award for Volunteering; Fundraiser of the Year Award; Award for Creative Arts and the Award for Professional Excellence. The awards will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at a star studded event in the Stormont Hotel, Belfast. The top three nominees from each category will also go forward to represent Northern Ireland at the Stroke Association’s ‘UK Life After Stroke Awards’ which takes place in London in June 2013.
