'DUP trying to set me up': claims UDP man
The DUP in Derry have been accused of setting up Ulster Democratic Party members for assassination by the IRA by suggesting that a link exists between the party and the Ulster Defence Association.
The claim was made by Derry City UDP councillor, Ken Kerr, who accused the DUP's local press Officer, Mr. David Nicholl, of having 'common cause with the IRA.' Mr. Nicholl, he said, attempted to link the party with the paramilitary organisation.
Mr. Kerr stated: "The IRA have tried to kill me recently. What common cause does Mr. Nicholl have with the IRA in trying to link the UDA and the UDP? He is merely helping the Provos."
