Lucky Roe Valley students will tomorrow meet the Dalai Lama at a prestigious event being held in Dublin, Sheena Jackson reports.

The 22 students from St. Mary’s Limavady, St. Patrick’s Dungiven and Limavady Grammar School will attend the opening of the Social Change Initiative ‘Possibilities 2011’ conference.

Also in attendance will be former Irish president Mary Robinson and Children in Crossfire’s Richard Moore.

A number of staff from the schools will accompany the pupils to the capital.

St. Mary’s teacher Stephen Keown said the students were excited about the trip.

The youngsters will be heading to Dublin’s City West Hotel tomorrow for the conference which will be attended by 2,000 people.

See Friday’s ‘Journal’ for photos from the trip.
