Derry people have been urged to give generously in support of local Hospice services this weekend for national Sunflower Days collection days taking place today, June 8, and tomorrow, Saturday, June 9.

This weekend Foyle Hospice will be celebrating Sunflower Days throughout the North West. By making a contribution, people will play a vital role in efforts to bring comfort and dignity to people at the end of their life. Hospice care involves highly skilled professionals working together to meet the individual needs of patients and families and community support is vital in these difficult economic times.

The Foyle Hospice Sunflower appeal requires volunteers to come together and help sell Sunflower Pins. Hospice fundraisers will be in Derry and Dungiven today and in Limavady tomorrow. The Sunflower Pins will be available all over the city and towns so please support Sunflowers Days 2012 for the suggested donation of £1.

If you can spare an hour or two to help, contact Rachel Bruce at the Fundraising Centre on: 71. 359888 or email: rachelbruce@foylehospice.com
