Swimming lessons at Portmore Pier

The annual swimming lessons at Portmore Pier, Malin Head will take place on week starting Monday, July 9th, with registration at 9am on that morning.

Malin IFA Dance will be held in the Malin Hotel on Saturday July 7th. Music by the Country Boys. Proceeds will be shared by the Funny Feet Fund and Farm Self Help Africa.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Ritchie Douglas, Carthage Mountain, Malin, who passed away last week.

Inishowen Rural Transport (IRT) are recruiting volunteers for a social car scheme which will run on a 6 month pilot basis up to December 2012. Malin GAA : The senior side put the disappointment of last weekend’s championship exit behind them in some style on Sunday, recording a 2-13 to 0-09 away win over table toppers Killybegs, a great result that keeps Malin firmly in the promotion shake up. The reserve side were unable to match the achievements of the seniors, going down against Killybegs by 1-15 to 0-07.

The 2012 Cul Camp, this year sponsored by Kellogg’s, takes place the week Monday 16th to Friday 20th July. Prices are 50 euro for 1st child, 45 euro for 2nd child and 40 euro for 3rd and subsequent children in a household. Under age hurling coaching takes place every Friday evening in the GAA centre, U-8 boys and girls from 5-00pm to 6-00pm, and U-10 boys and girls from 6-00pm until 7-00pm. Cost is €2 per child per session and all equipment is provided, for any further queries contact Grace McCarron on 0868047199.

There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot. The sequence drawn was 1,2,7,3,5,6,4. The 50 euro winner was Jackie McKinley, Malin Town with the €20 sellers prize going to McCleans, Malin. Next week’s lotto jackpot is €2,250 and we thank the local community for its continued support.
