The staff of the Derry Journal would like to thank the people of the North West for making this year’s Toy Appeal such a huge success.
The doors of our new offices at Pennyburn Pass have been kept busy opening and closing thanks to the generosity of local people.
This year’s Toy Appeal comes to an end today - and the many gifts and toys that have been donated will now be distributed to children in the North West.
Run in conjunction with the Salvation Army, St Vincent De Paul and the Northern Ireland Fire Service our toy appeal has collected presents for children of all ages, both boys and girls.
Over the past decade, the campaign has helped bring Christmas cheer to thousands of local families.
In these times of economic cutbacks, there has never been a more important time to contribute.
‘Journal’ Promotions Executive Geraldine Gallagher said: “Derry people are famed for their generosity and year on year our Toy Appeal has provided a lifeline to many families in need over the festive period.
“This year has been no exception, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed. It means so much.”
