Limavady woman, Corrienne Archibald has snapped up a national photography award.
The 43-year-old Rossmar School teacher won a gold award in Mencap's national photography competition, Snap! in the Through My Eyes category. Her entry was chosen from 1,100 entries.

The winning photo - Seeing the Light - shows one of Corrienne's s
tudents Naomi Lee with the sun shining on her face.

"Naomi Lee is registered blind and has developmental delay," explained Corrienne.

"This photo shows her turning her head towards a glint of sunshine which peeped through the blinds in our classroom.

It was the first indication to me that she had some light perception and we were all very excited."

Display

The picture will go on display at the acclaimed Proud Camden Gallery in London, from June 19- July 6. Corrienne will also be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at the gallery, where she will rub shoulders with some of Mencap's celebrity supporters.
