A Dungiven schoolboy with "star quality" has won the hearts of the 'X Factor' judges, singing his way to the next round of the reality show and securing a place at boot camp.
Eoghan Quigg wowed the celebrity judges at the weekend, and has since won a legion of admirers who have set up a fan site.
Since the 16-year-old's appearance on the X factor on Saturday night, internet websites including Bebo have been inundated with messages of support while back home in Dungiven Eoghan's parents have been flooded with calls of support from family, friends and neighbours.
Surrounded by almost 50 supporters, Chris and Denise Quigg watched their eldest son chat with host Dermot O'Leary before entering the audition room where he sang for judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell.
The St. Patrick's College student said: "I want to be on stage with the lights shining down on me."
After singing 'Home' by Michael Bublé and Eric Clapton's 'Heaven', the judges were smitten.
Westlife manager Louis Walsh told the young Dungiven lad he had "star quality", while Dannii Minogue said: "You're adorable!"
'So Cute'
Cheryl Cole added: "I think you're so cute!"
Music mogul Simon Cowell told Eoghan he was "terrific".
"You've just got it, whatever It is, you've got it. Good voice, good looks. Chicks are gonna love you, mums are gonna love you."
Eoghan's mum, Denise said she was "very proud" of her son, who has been singing since he was a youngster.
She said: "We always knew he had a great voice and he would go far with it. Whatever happens, we're proud; no matter what."
Chris said his son, who plays gaelic and hurling for the local clubs, is taking the experience "in his stride". During the summer, the teenager has been working in the local EuroSpar.
Laid back
"Eoghan is the same on TV as he is off screen," said Chris. "He's quite laid back and we're very proud for him and the whole family. He gets on with everything and is very down to earth."
Eoghan's grandfather, James said there was "great support" for the teenager.
"I've known Eoghan since he was baby, and he's a very cool lad, a bit like myself!"
Recalling when Eoghan sang in his kitchen at Christmas, James said: "We're all very proud of him. There is something especially gifted about Eoghan's singing."
