Tourism providers are encouraged to have their say about the sector in the Limavady Borough Council area at a meeting of the Limavady and Roe Valley Tourism Network next week.
Items on the agenda for discussion will include Limavady Borough Council’s 2009 Visitor Guide, Short Breaks Initiative, Visitor Incentive Scheme, Familiarisation Trips and the Limavady and North Sperrins Heritage Trails.

ShortBreaks

The Short b
reaks initiative is in its second year for the Council and plans are now being finalised for the 2008/2009 promotion. All accommodation providers and activity providers in the Borough have been given the opportunity to take part in the promotion.

A spokesperson said: “In a change from last year the Tourism Development Officers are also working on a discount card that will distributed as part of the Short Breaks promotion.

“These will be used to encourage visitors to the area to shop and socialise in the Borough.“

The Tourism Network Meeting is an opportunity for all tourism providers to let their voice be heard and for them to hear about the work of the Tourism Development Officer since the last meeting in February and about the plans for the upcoming months.

“It is hoped the network will improve the communication lines between the industry and council and encourage the industry to work in partnership with the council,” said the spokesperson.

The meeting takes place on Wednesday, October 8 at 11am in Limavady Borough Council Offices.
