A 22-year-old Limavady man, who dropped his trousers and mooned at the police as a laugh, was ordered to complete 100 hours community service when he appeared at Limavady Magistrate's Court this week.
Gaven Paul Luke Boyd, of Anderson Crescent in the town was with a group on Market Street in Limavady at 1.50am on December 21, 2007. The court heard that they were going to drop their trousers but only Boyd did.
“Initially what was a joke turned out to be something else,” said defence solicitor, Johnny Sandhu.
When he was cautioned by police, he replied, “F*** off, I did nothing wrong,” a PPS spokesperson said. He also struggled violently when arrested, forcing three officers to contain Boyd.
Mr. Sandhu said alcohol misuse may be why Boyd was in court.
RM Eamon King said Boyd was in breach of binding over from the November 21, 2007 to be on good behaviour in the sum of £250 for 18 months.
Consequently, Boyd was ordered to pay £250 and given 100 hours of community service.
