A 25-year-old Limavady man caught using a mobile phone while behind the wheel earlier this year has been fined £75.
Limavady Magistrate's Court heard that on March 1 Jonathan Martin from the Baranailt Road was observed on the phone while sitting at traffic lights.

When the lights changed to green and he pulled ahead in his VW Bora, he continued to talk, the court heard.

‘I know that’

Police motioned Martin to pull over and, as he did, he put the phone down.

When cautioned by police, he said: "I know that."

District Judge Eamon King also endorsed three penalty points on his licence.
