A Limavady man has been fined for his involvement in a drunken "skirmish" with another man.
William Hynds (41), of Glengiven Avenue, admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour when he appeared at Limavady Magistrate’s Court this week.

The court heard that Hynds ended up in custody after the incident at Drumceatt Park, Limavady, in the early hours of Saturday last.

Police warned both men several times before intervening and separating them. The other party refused to settle down and “lunged” at the defendant.

Both men were arrested for disorderly behaviour.

They were detained until fit to be charged as they were “heavily intoxicated”.

A defence solicitor said his client was “very aware” that such behaviour would not be tolerated.

The co-accused in the case is due to appear in court on July 1.

Hynds was fined £100.
