Man on gross indecency charges

A 27 years old man from the Ballymagroarty area of Derry has been remanded in custody charged with committing an act of gross indecency towards four schoolgirls between December 2006 and May of this year.
The charges against Joseph McCauley, of Dunluce Court, relate to alleged incidents outside local schools.

The defendant is already is custody in Maghaberry Prison charged with 21 similar offences.

A police officer told the court he could connect the defendant to the four new charges, to which the defendant made no reply.

There was no defence application for bail and McCauley was remanded in continuing custody to appear before the same court via video link on October 2.
