The very sad and untimely death took place recently at his residence in Cashel, Gleneely of Thomas McLaughlin aged only 46 years old.
Thomas who was a builder by trade and was at hand to help everyone. Thomas was a keen supporter of football and especially his home team Illies Celtic. A devoted husband and loving father he died as he lived, a true gentleman. The high esteem in whi
ch Thomas and his family were held was manifested by one of the largest funerals seen in the parish which took place in St. Mary's Church, Bocan where Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joseph Morris, Bocan who also officiated at the graveside in the adjoining cemetery. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Carmel and his four children Martin, Helen, James and Declan; his mother Bridie; his brothers Andy and Sean; his sisters Rosemary McClure, Kathleen Devlin; all his in-laws, nephews and nieces and relations in the family circle. God grant his soul eternal rest.
Congratulations to Liz Kelly, Glengad in winning the "Take your Pick Jackpot of 700 euro in the Orchard Bar Gleneely last Friday night. The jackpot starts at 200 euro with music. The winner of the 150 euro pool competition on Saturday night in the Orchard Bar was Joe McCauley, Moneydarragh and Hugh Kelly, Gleneely was the runner up.

Kieran and Sonia McBride along with their families would like to thank all those who supported their recent fund raising efforts. Altogether a staggering 40,500 euro was raised through the various fund raising events. The amount was split between Ronald McDonald House and Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin and cheques were presented recently to these groups.
