Scoil Mhuire reunion planned

Scoil Mhuire, Gleneely is planning a school re-union. All interested in attending are asked to attend a meeting in the school gym on Friday, 30th at 8 p.m.

The Inishowen Horse Breeders' dance will be held in the Malin Hotel tomorrow with music by The Rovers, accompanied by John McGeoghegan. Dancing from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. tickets 5 euro each. Door prize 50 euro. Come along and enjoy a good night's craic

Forty Five card drive winners in Gleneely last week were: Paul McElhinney, Moneydarragh; Brian Diver, Crana View, Buncrana; Hannah McLaughlin and Eddie Duffy, Moneydarragh. Card playing every Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. sharp.
A 25 Card Drive will take place in the Malin Hotel tonight with two rounds playing to time at 10 euro per round. this will include supper. First prize is a deluxe Christmas hamper; 2nd festive hamper; 3, selection of festive goodies. Door prize - tickets to Inishowen Lapland. There will be a raffle on the night with proceeds donated to the classes for children with specific learning difficulties in Action Inishowen.
Inishowen Athletic Club is holding a 'Night at the Races' in Simpson's Bar, Tul na Ri, Carndonagh tonight beginning at 8.30 p.m. Horses cost 10 euro each and are available from all club members.
Gleneely Conservation Group fund raising dance takes place next Friday, 30th November in the Malin Hotel. Dancing from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. with music by Peter Mac, John McGeoghegan and Friends. Tickets are priced at 5 euro each. Your support would be much appreciated.
The Ninth Annual Inishowen Traditional Music Project Work show will be held in Glendad National School and Glengad Community Centre this Saturday and Sunday. This project to date has brought over 60 tutors from all over Ireland to spend the weekend in Inishowen passing on their expertise and love of the music.
The Blood Transfusion Service would like to thank all those who came to the recent blood transfusion clinic where a total of 270 donated were received. Thanks to all those who took the time to donate, especially who donated for the first time. Thanks also to the principal of Carndonagh Community School and the caretakers.

Snowball is 75 euro for a score of 181 or better.
Congratulations to Neil McGrory, Culdaff on the publication of his book, 'Inishowen, A Journey Through Its Past Revisited'. Copies cost 10 euro and is an excellent and informative read.

Congratulations to local badminton players Oliver and Michelle Ruddy and Janice McCandless who were part of the winning team that lifted the Roy Elder Cup in Lisburn last weekend.
Patricia McCormick will give the talk and demonstration at this month's session of Inishowen Gardening Club next Monday, 26th in the Wesley Hall at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Martha and John Steele of Gulladuff, Moville are hoping to put people in the Christmas spirit again this year when they light up their home and garden in Moville with thousands of Christmas lights for children and adults alike to come and donate to charity. The charity selected this year is Inishowen Special Needs.
At present the committee is raising funds for a very worthwhile project in Moville. It is planned to open a house known as Prospect Villa to provide sheltered accommodation for 21 people and a Resource Centre. This new project will be a great boost to the town and Inishowen in general and it is hoped that many people will come and view the Christmas lights and help to provide vital funding for the Special Needs committee. If groups or organisations would like to visit the lights and have a cup of tea in the Log Cabin all in the name of charity they can contact the Steeles in good time and it can be arranged.
Numbers drawn in the Gleneely F.C. lotto last week were 5, 12, 13, 19 - no jackpot winner. 20 euro winners were Charles McLaughlin, Carrowmena; Colette Donaghy, Claudy; Charlie Mooney, Effishmore; Jim Harkin, Ballyharry and Harry McLaughlin, Culdaff Road, Gleneely. The jackpot is now 2,200 euro and the next draw will take place in Carrick's Bar on Sunday at 10 p.m.
Bocan Community Defibrilator Group will hold a refresher course on Wednesday, 28th at 8.30 p.m. All members are requested to attend.
Culdaff F.C. lotto numbers were 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11. There was no jackpot winner and the 20 euro winners were Caoimhe Ruddy, Culdaff, Charlie McCurdy, Culdaff and Damien Harkin, Drumfries. Next week the jackpot will be 2,400 euro. This week's sellers are Oliver Ruddy and Michael McLaughlin and the draw takes place in Caratra on Sunday at 10 p.m. The December meeting will be held in the Clubhouse on Tuesday, 4th at 9 p.m. All members are asked to attend.

Moville and District Mental Health Association will be holding their Christmas Social in Foody's Lodge, Quigley's Point on Sunday, 2nd December from 3 - 7 p.m. Afternoon tea, raffle and spot prizes galore and admission is 5 euro.
The winners of the Texas Hold'em night held in the Orchard Bar on Thursday night was Paddy O'Kane, Kendroyhead and Daniel McLaughlin, Gleneely. Texas Hold'em continues every Thursday and Sunday.
Take Your Pick continues in the Orchard Bar every Friday night with the jackpot now 225 euro. Live music on the night.
The Orchard Bar annual Christmas draw takes place on Friday, 21st December at 10 p.m. Valuable prizes are up for grabs. Tickets 1.50 euro each.

Gleneely Colts will have a fundraising quiz in Carrick's Bar on Friday, 7th December at 10 p.m.
A monster car boot sale and bazaar will be held in Bocan Hall on Sunday, 2nd December at 2 p.m. Stalls galore and admission is free. Gleneely Colts are at home to Lifford this weekend in the Ulster Junior Cup, training as usual every Friday night at 7 p.m. in Malin. Culdaff F.C. play Glengad United this weekend with a 1.30 p.m. kick off and players asked to report at 12.45 p.m. sharp.
