The latest outing of McGuinness' Bar Golf Society took place to Greencastle Golf Club on St. Patrick's Day with 23 members participating. Winner of Section A was Paddy McDermott followed by P. J. O'Toole and Tony Gibbons. Winner of Section B was Mick Murphy followed by Seamus Doherty (b) and Seamus O'Connor. The longest drive was won by Don Ruddy while the nearest the pin prize was claimed by Neil Farren. The front nine was won by Brian McGonagle while the back nine went to John Farren. The next outing takes place on the May Bank Holiday weekend and is limited to members. It is an overnight trip to Mayo to play Westport (Saturday) and Ballinrobe (Sunday) before returning on Monday. All interested in going, must forward relevant fees to Captain John O'Kane before Sunday, 27th April. All in the Society would also like to pass on our condolences to Neil Duffy and his family circle on the recent death of his brother Michael in Scotland. Michael was an active member of the Society. More than 40 competitors took part in the Orchard Bar Darts competition on St. Patrick's Day for the Rose McLaughlin Perpetual Cup and 400 euro. The winner was Junior Coyle, Burnfoot while the runner up was Marty Quinn, Buncrana. Darren would like to thank all who took part in the competition. Texas Holden continues every Thursday and Sunday evenings. All are most welcome.
Gleneely Colts defeated Sea Rovers 5-0 last week and are at home to Buncrana in a top of the table clash this week. The reserves beat Culdaff res 4-3 last week and have a bye this weekend.
