Buncrana GAA completed their Fun Summer Camp last week. The club would like to thank all the children and parents for taking part and Sean Noonan from South Inishowen School Completion Programme who funded the camp.

This year’s camp was a great su
ccess with activities such as swimming, hip hop, Aussie Rules, Compromise Rules, Rugby and Soccer Skills, GAA games and Athletics. The children all enjoyed it and are looking forward to next year's camp.

Congratulations to the U18 footballers who won the Inishowen B Final last Wednesday evening, defeating Urris 3-20 to 0-6.

There were no senior Football or Hurling fixtures over the Bank Holiday weekend, however, the footballers are expected to be playing both senior and reserve games this weekend. As usual news about the next game should be available at the next training night.

The Hurlers also have a number of games coming up in the next few weeks. Football training is on Tuesday night as normal. Hurling training is on Wednesday’s at 6.30 p.m.

The senior footballers were defeated by Naomh Padráig last Tuesday evening in the Inishowen Championship by 2-9 to 0-12.

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot last week. Joe Boyle and Paul O‘Brien, each won 20 euro. The numbers drawn were - 4, 5, 2, 3, 6, 1, 7. Next week’s jackpot is 700 euro.

The U12 hurlers drew 3-3 to 3-3 with Aodh Ruadh last Thursday evening in an eventful match at home. This Thursday’s clash against St Eunan’s in the Donegal League is postponed due to the holidays.

The U12 hurlers travelled to Feeny on Saturday morning last to take on St Mary’s GAC Banagher in a challenge match. Banagher won 5-5 to 4-1 but it was an impressive performance by the boys and girls, who were without a number of regulars and fielded some U10s. Paula McGrory was in impressive form in midfield.

U14 and U13 football training will continue on Sunday mornings at 10.00 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. unless contacted by coaches. The U13 Championship is just a few weeks away so players should make the effort to attend.

No challenge game was arranged for this week due to holidays but there will be a match before the championship starts. Please contact the managers if there is any problem.

The Inishowen U10 football blitz will take place on Saturday, August 30th in Muff. A challenge game for the team will be organised beforehand. There will be no underage football training tomorrow morning (Saturday) at the pitch.

Underage hurling training and camogie training is on Monday evenings from 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Please remember to bring helmet, equipment etc.

Reminder to U14 and U16 hurlers that Thursday evenings are match days.
