Donegal Ladies Alliance
The Donegal & Friends Ladies Winter Alliance will commence tomorrow (Saturday), October 11th at the Foyle Golf Centre where the first tee has been reserved from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon. Last cards at 11.00 a.m.

All lady members of local clubs are
invited to participate and further information can be obtained by contacting the secretary, Noreen Allen on 028-71-3466369.

The programme of outings for this season is - Saturday, November 15th, North West Golf Club; Saturday, December 6th, Portsalon; Saturday, January 10th, Ballyliffin; Saturday, February 21st, Buncrana; Saturday, March 21st, Greencastle and Sunday, April 5th, City of Derry.

Portsalon Ladies

Portsalon Lady Captain, Deirdre O’Toole, returned to winning ways in the Ladies Open held recently, her score of 38 points giving her a one point cushion over runner-up, Sally Boyle. Nuala Mc Garrigle finished third with 36 points following a break of tie. The ‘nines’ were won by Maureen Shanahan and Sarah Nicholl while Kathleen O’Toole won the Category Prize with 37 pts.

Deirdre was also the winner of the September Monthly competition with Mary Barrett in the runner-up spot.

Congratulations to Mae Blaney who won the Sunday Member’s competition last weekend with 38 points ahead of Vera Kearney with 34 points.

North-West Ladies

Lady Captain Nuala Mallon’s outing to Narin & Portnoo on October 3rd - 1, Aileen White (29) 39 points; 2, Michelle O’Sullivan (27) 37; 3, Augusta Neff (15) 36; 4, Mary McGeough (16) 36; front 9, Eileen Quigley (19) 19; back 9, Bernie Coyle (23) 18; Team prize - Roisin Williamson, Anne McCloskey and Augusta Neff, 98 points.

Meanwhile, the results of last Wednesday’s Teams of Three event at Lisfannon were - 1, Margaret McLaren, Roisin Timoney and Margaret O’Hea 69 points; 2, Claire Cully, Deirdre Brittan and Eileen Quigley, 69.

Next week’s competition is an 18 hole singles stableford, arrange own partners.
