In the second Young Bird race of the season from Mullingar (105 miles) a close fought contest, which involved 460 birds, saw Sean McGrotty take top honours in the Maiden City club.
In second spot was the partnership of Johnny Killen and Robbie Hegarty, two young lads who continue to make a name for themselves while in 3rd, 7th and 10th were McGettigan Bros having another excellent race.
Taking 4th, 8th and 9th spots, with very little separating the first four birds in club, were the Coyle Bros.
Other results were - 5th, Dunne & Quigley; 6th, P. and M. Healy.
