The Playhouse Players present 'Damage Done' and 'I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me', two early one act plays by Owen McCafferty, at The Playhouse, Artillery Street. from Tuesday 23rd until Saturday 27th June.

Performed by Carmel McCafferty and Gerry Doherty, 'Damage Done' is the study of an elderly couple and their inability to communicate. With its echoes of Samuel Beckett, this short play explores how relationships break down with the passage of time.

I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me is the sometimes comic, sometimes tragic story of a man facing an uncertain future after he is made redundant from his job in a bookies and begins to struggle with his new found free time.

Performed by Pat Lynch, 'I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me' has been described by the Sunday Tribune as 'a deeply affectionate and fiercely clear-eyed portrait of a recently unemployed middle-manager slowly losing his mind'.

Previous productions from the Playhouse Players include such well-received and acclaimed plays as 'Kings of the Kilburn High Road', 'The Lonesome West', 'Bouncers' and 'Educating Rita'.

Performance Time: 8 pm. Tickets: £10/ £7. Box Office: 028 7126 8027. www.derryplayhouse.co.uk
