The Alley is now regarded as one of the leading theatre and arts venues within the North West and the launch of the new Spring Events guide has been highly anticipated across the North West. Their reputation for offering quality shows and excellent
ticket prices is now firmly cemented this season with some of the biggest names in theatre and music set to perform at the Alley in 2009.
The Alley has been selected to host one of the final stage performances of the popular "Give My Head Peace" show, who will be visiting the Alley in February for one night only. Da, Cal, Dympna, Billy and of course Uncle Andy and Big Mervyn will all be saying a fond farewell within the Alley, bringing the curtain down on one of the best loved BBC shows in history. The Alley has a strong reputation for bringing some of the best singers to the North West and this season will be no exception. Alley patrons can expect intimate performances from the wonderful Tommy Fleming, the exceptional Patrick Feeney, country star Jimmy Buckley and Irish trad giants Dervish, all of whom will be taking to the famous Alley Stage for a series of performances throughout February and March next year.
The new Alley website, www.alley-theatre.com, allows patrons to browse information about shows, find out about forthcoming exhibitions, check out about the latest Alley news, sign up for the popular Alley E-News service and book online using our secure box office service at any time of the day.
The Alley will be breaking new ground with the arrival of Opera UK from the Barbican in London and their performance of The Barber of Seville in May 2009, the first professional Opera ever performed within the Strabane district. "The Barber of Seville" is one of Opera's most famous comedic shows, translated into English for modern day audiences. Demand for tickets will be high, especially as ticket prices start from only £14 and for many will be the perfect Christmas gift this year, therefore early booking advisable.
