A local security guard has revealed his new look after losing an amazing six stone at Slimming World.
Murray Carmichael, who works for the University of Ulster, says he feels like a whole new man after dropping five trouser sizes and going from a 50" to 42" chest to reach his target weight in just eight months.
The Limavady man's astonishing weight loss has also netted him the title of 'Man of the Year' with the slimming club.
Murray says he's delighted with his new look: "At first I was amazed at how much I could eat on Slimming World," he said
"I can pile my plate high with pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, fish and eggs and still lose weight successfully.
"And, best of all, I can still enjoy all my favourite meals, such as steak and chips, pie, curry or even a Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
"There really isn't anything you can't eat."
However, father of two Murray admits he was anxious the first day he joined the class.
"I was incredibly nervous at the idea of walking into a room full of women," he said. "But I don't know what I was worried about. From the minute I stepped through the door everyone was so friendly and made me feel so welcome. My consultant Maria was fabulous, too, she was always there for me, whether it was talking in person, chatting on the phone, or sending texts, e-mails and little cards.
"Now I'm more active and I walk everywhere. This has helped me achieve and maintain my target weight.
"I am much healthier, fitter and more confident than I have ever been thanks to Slimming World."
His class leader Maria Jackson says she's incredibly proud of his achievement.
She said: "I think the reason some men are so wary before joining Slimming World is that slimming clubs and "dieting" are stereotypically seen as female domains. However, the obesity crisis doesn't just affect women."
