Abortion in Derry 'means abortion in Inishowen'

"People who abort their unborn children should be brought before the courts on human rights abuse charges" warns a Buncrana pro-life campaigner who is in uproar at plans to introduce the Act in Derry.
Campaigner Mary Doherty, of the Christian Solidarity Party and Inishowen Pro-life group, said if an amendment to the UK Abortion Act is passed people from the peninsula will be able to easily 'kill' unborn and unwanted children.
And she says making it legal in Derry, effectively makes it legal in Inishowen and will have a detrimental impact on the rest of Ireland.
She told the Journal: "We don't think abortion should be brought in.
"There has been enough killings in Northern Ireland and we don't think anyone has the right to kill.
"The radical feminists say women have a right to have abortions -but no one has the right to kill.
"We believe they should be taken up for human rights abuse - because murder is a crime."
She is now calling on women in the peninsula to stand up and speak out, joining the fight against abortion.
Mary said she believes people should abstain from sex, before marriage, and stop using the contraceptive pill - she says this is 'leading to abortions'.
Furious Mary added: "We will be campaigning very vigorously against this.
"I have worked in England as a nurse and I have seen women who have had abortions coming back crying.
"It has a very profound effect on someone's thinking.
"I shall be working to encourage people to abstain from having sex before marriage.
"Abortion is wrong!"
The amendment to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill which was tabled at Westminster earlier this week has attracted controversy from Derry pro-life groups.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Pro Life Group spokesperson Bernadette Ferreira has expressed her anger at the proposal.
Ms Ferreira said the amendment, if passed in parliament, would result in the 'murdering' of the unborn children of Northern Ireland.
She said: "How dare MPs in Westminster threaten and push to impose murder on the unborn children of Northern Ireland, opposing the majority view of people living here."
