Biodiversity week in Inishowen

The following events will take place in Inishowen as part of national Biodiversity Week.
Saturday 17 May:

12pm Nature trail on Moville Shore Front, along Lough Foyle, hosted by Peter White MSc.

A sample coastwatch survey will be carried out. Lucy White who has experience of doing these surveys for over 10 years will be available to teach members of the public on how to do the survey.

1.45pm onwards in St Eugene’s Hall, Moville, admission free

Launch of Biodiversity week followed by:

2pm Fr Mangingi, from Tanzania, giving a talk on the work of Children in Crossfire.

2.30pm Glas Oige will be making a mural which will encompass all aspects of biodiversity, helped by local artist John Quigley.

3.15 pm Martin Maloney will give a talk and demonstration on birds of prey.

4pm Dermot Mc Laughlin on bird watching in Inishowen

5pm Brian Thompson on bee-keeping

6pm Dr Paddy Sleeman on badgers.

Friday May 23 at Greencastle Maritime Museum, admission free.

7pm Stan Mc Williams on Wind Energy

8pm Peter Doran and Jim Keys on Ethical Consumption.
