Clonmany Shamrock's National School Soccer

August 12 sees the start of the National School's soccer league and Lackin Trophy run by the Clonmany Shamrock's. Six schools from Clonmany and the surrounding area take part.
The competition is eagerly awaited by all the participating schools as it gives a chance for some of the boys and girls who have not gotten a game with the St Mary’s teams to take part.

The school league is one of the longest running competitions
around started by the Shamrocks in 1980. The Lackin trophy was first played for in 1982.

Talking to Shamrock’s chairman, Shaun McDaid and Thomas Doherty, both emphasize the importance of the competitions at this time of year taking pride of place above all other football with in the Shamrocks Football Club.

Fixture list for the league are as follows:

Tuesday August 12 -Tiernasligo v Rasheny- 6.30pm. Glassalts v Clonmany-7.30pm Wednesday August 13 Drumfries v Cloontagh 7.00pm

Thursday August 14 Rasheny v Glassalts- 6.30pm.

Friday August 15 -Clonmany v Drumfries 6.30pm.Cloontagh v Tiernasligo 7.30pm

Saturday August 17 -Glassalts v Drumfries 11.00am. Clonmany v Tiernasligo 12.00pm

Rasheny v Cloontagh1.00pm

Tuesday August 19 -Clonmany v Cloontagh6.30pm. Rasheny v Drumfries-7.30pm

Wednesday August 20 -Tiernasligo v Glassalts-7.00pm
