Brilliant! Was the word used by the men and few women attending a Donegal Action Cancer Care workshop last week when asked for feedback by PJ Hallinan.
When it came to 8 pm in the Mount Errigal on a glorious evening and no one had turned up DACC thought, “Well we put the work in and hopefully the men the night was intended for are out enjoying the good weather”.

Then from what appeared to be nowh
ere, at 8.10, men appeared with over 60 turning out for an evening on men’s health, some humour and refreshments.

Those who attended were united in their comments such as:

“It was the right amount of information to start;”

“The information packs are excellent;” and

“Congratulations to those who put the packs together the information is so practical, useful and easy to read.”

It was proposed that similar nights would be organised around the county as so many people could benefit from it.

The easy manner in which all the speakers conveyed the important information is a great credit to them in their professions. The topics covered were bowel & prostate cancer, general health, diet & nutrition, positive mental health and humour.

There was opportunity for questions from the floor and indeed those present were able to talk to the speakers on their own.

Before tea there was raffles for some great gifts- all with the focus on men!
