Inishowen's councillors and council officials have heard details of exciting proposals to breathe new life into the border village of Killea.
A multi-phase proposal for a new village centre - including mixed residential units, a hotel or inn, a creche, retail units and several parks - has been drawn up by a consortium led by Ballycastle firm McAlister Holdings for a 43 acre site at Kildrum Upper.
Members of the Inishowen Electoral Area heard on Tuesday that the group have already hosted a public consultation for Killea residents.
Colr Francis Conaghan, who attended the event, said it had been well attended and the feedback he had received was very positive.
At Tuesday's council meeting, the developers gave a detailed slide presentation showed a ten year plan for the area which, it claimed, met all the national and county guidelines for development in a border village.
They say that while the project doesn't precisely tally with the Killea Local Area Plan, it meets all the key objectives of making a community and commercial centre, the need to create a better sense of place, promote environmental improvement, consolidate the village and make best use of infrastructure.
Several councillors praised McAlister Holdings' track record, which they said was impressive. It was also agreed that the proposal was one of the better projects that they had seen coming forward.
