Inishowen came from behind to secure a well deserved point against the Hungarian side at the Showgrounds in very warm clammy conditions on Wednesday afternoon.
They began well with the Hungarian defence ill at ease under the high ball.Twice Jamie Coyle and Kevin O'Loughlin almost took advantage.A good run and cross by Mark Timlin on the left found O'Loughlin but his effort was blocked by the keeper before Coyle was denied by the advancing keeper as he raced through.
The Hungarians hit back before the break and some neat interplay meant Conor O'Donnell had to be fully alert to produce two good stops. On the stroke of half time O'Donnell seemed to be fouled but the referee waved play on and the Hungarians goalbound shot was deflected away off the line by Kieran McLaughlin.
A brilliant length of the pitch move caught Inishowen cold in the opening minutes of the second half and the centre forward fired high past O'Donnell from six yards. This knocked Inishowen back but they regrouped splendidly and deservedly levelled with ten minutes remaining when James Wallace's driven free kick was flicked to the top corner by O'Loughlin from twelve yards for a superb headed goal.
Inishowen pushed on and almost won it when Mark Timlin crossed but Coyle attempted to take on his chest and the ball just ran away from him. Nevertheless a superb performance from Inishowen who can take a lot of confidence from this result.
