People in Derry can ensure they receive the correct entitlement thanks to a new scheme that has been launched by Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE).
‘For Your Benefit’ offers a free, confidential benefit check.

Jenny Boyd, NIE Energy, explained: “‘For Your Benefit’ will provide free, confidential help and advice about benefit entitlements, as well as offering valuable energy efficiency advice on how to save money and energy.

“NIE is pleased to be working with a range of partner organisations, which regularly work with people who may not be claiming their full benefit entitlement. “As well as the free benefit check, customers will also be advised about the various grants available to make their homes more energy efficient.

“Previous benefit entitlement activity undertaken by NIE and their advice partners highlighted that on average, customers were around £30 per week better off, making a significant contribution to household bills.”
