'Kings', the Irish language film directed by Derry's Tom Collins, is to be given a theatrical release in North America.
The film is the first ever Irish entry for the foreign language Oscar and stars Colm Meaney. It tells the story of a group of young men from Connemara who leave Ireland in the 1970s, filled with ambition for a better life in London.

‘Kings’ was picked up by BFS Entertainment and its chief executive, Denis Donnelly, said he is “very excited” by the film. BFS acquired the movie at the American Film Market from London-based sales agent High Point Films.

The cinema release will be handled for BFS by New York-based distrib Panorama Entertainment.
