Armed thieves have made off with a " significant sum of cash" during an armed robbery of a Derry taxi firm.
Police say a gang of up to four men wearing scarves and carrying guns were involved in the robbery which happened between 8:30pm and 9pm in William Street on Thursday.
A PSNI spokeswoman said no one was hurt during the robbery but the gang made off with a significant sum of cash.
SDLP Councillor John Tierney condemned the incident.
"I am extremely concerned that this attack was carried out at gunpoint by masked men.
"The situation could very easily have gotten out of hand and someone could have been killed or seriously injured.
"I would urge the entire local community to give their full cooperation to the police so that those responsible for this attack are caught and brought to justice."
