A man has been shot in a bookies shop in Derry.
The attack happened in Meenan Square at around 9pm on Wednesday night.

Two masked men armed with a shotgun ordered customers in the shop to lie on the floor before blasting a 35-year-old man in both legs.

The victim was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, a police spokeswoman said.

The gunmen fled in a silver Vauxhall Vectra which had been hijacked in the Dove Gardens area of the Bogside. The car was found ablaze in the Creggan Heights area soon afterwards.

Police have appealed for anyone who can help their investigation into the incident to contact them.
