A twenty-eight years-old man from Amelia Court in Derry appeared before the city's Magistrate's Court yesterday on assault charges.
Eugene Patrick McGinley is charged with assaulting a man and a woman, with intent to do them grievous bodily harm, on December 27 last. He's further charged with two counts of threating to kill a man and with possessing an iron bar at Fergleen Park on February 23. last.

The defendant was released on bail to appear for a Preliminary Enquiry on September 4.
